Summary:
The Director of Women's Basketball Operations' chief purpose is to assist in the administration, compliance, community outreach, academics, sports participation and student-athlete development of the Women's Basketball program. Reporting to Head Women's Basketball Coach, the Director of Women's Basketball Operations works to further VCU Athletics' mission to win conference and national championships, provide a first-class student-athlete experience, serve as a source of pride for the University and community, and cultivate graduates who excel as leaders.
Typical Duties
Duties include, but are not limited to, organizing team travel, including hotels, meals and practice times; and acting as liaison between Women's Basketball and athletic administration associated with travel.
Duties include, but are not limited to, managing the Women's Basketball budget in consultation with the Head Coach.
Duties include, but are not limited to, acting as liaison between women's basketball and athletic administrators, acting as lead for team communication software, organizing summer basketball scheduling, organizing and supervising community outreach for the women's basketball program.
Duties include, but are not limited to, keeping accurate files to maintain and remain in compliance with University, A-10, and NCAA rules and regulations.
Supervise and oversee student managers.
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree;
Experience at a NCAA Division I level Women's Basketball program; and
Demonstrated experience working in and fostering a diverse faculty, staff, and student environment or commitment to do so as a staff member at VCU
Preferred Qualifications
An advanced degree or training and work experience at a level that equates to an advanced degree;
Two (2) years' experience working in an NCAA Division l program;
Previous playing experience in the sport of basketball.
