Position Summary:
To support the audiovisual equipment in the Snead Hall by providing preventative maintenance, installation, repair and training of the AV appliances. Also provide guidance, best practices and consultation with faculty and staff members when evaluating AV appliances in both physical and online learning spaces.
Duties & Responsibilities:
●Update, maintain, and provide training for AV systems, in conjunction with university media support services and AV vendors. Assist and verify in pre-bid, project scope, pre-installation and turn over review of audiovisual projects. Troubleshoot installation and create a punch list of issues as needed.
●Develop procedures and processes to proactively maintain AV systems, document procedures, and troubleshooting methods
●Identify and advise on emerging technology setups, testing and verification of the solutions
●Provide guidance and assistance with online teleconferencing solutions
●Establish and maintain effective communication and cooperative working relationships with university faculty, administration, staff, and students
Required Qualifications:
●Advanced degree in information systems or related discipline and/or 3 years of professional experience or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience
●Must have strong customer service background
●Must have working knowledge and troubleshooting experience of video conferencing solutions equipment expertise in current projectors, flat panel displays, visual presenters, interactive digital presentation, audio amplifiers and mixers, various audio and video switching devices and electronic control systems
●Good interpersonal and training skills. Must have the ability to provide clear and accurate written documentation.
●Experience completing most work with limited supervision, appropriately judging when to seek assistance or guidance from subject experts or management.
●Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multi-task as needed.
●Available to work flexible and varying hours to accommodate alternating weekend executive programs, evening online MBA program, and early morning and weekend special events.
●Demonstrated experience fostering a diverse and inclusive environment and an expressed commitment to do so while at VCU.
Preferred Qualifications:
●Experience working in a higher education environment
●AV certifications relevant to this position
●Video and sound editing experience
●Video production

Salary Range: $48,000-$58,000
