APPOINTMENT TYPE: Full-Time, 12 Months
SCHEDULE: Monday - Friday, 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. (after hours and weekend call-ins for repairs on locks)
SHIFT: First Shift
PRIMARY FUNCTION:
Under general supervision, responsible for security of all building doors, safes, vaults, fire files, and locking devices; maintains security for the university key system by changing locks, supplying keys and installing hardware; repairs and installs panic bars, exit alarms, closers, and hinges; records/updates information related to keys and electronic access, combinations and lock locations for filing system; and troubleshoots and repairs mechanical and electronic door locks.
POSITION REQUIREMENTS: Four years of experience in the trade, including apprenticeship.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS: Commercial hardware installation or an equivalent of vocational or on-the-job training; and a valid driver’s license preferred.
