Job Summary
Reporting to the Manager Systems Administration, The System Analyst supports the identification of system requirements and functional design specifications to meet customer needs for cloud and virtual platforms and applications.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities
Essential Performance Requirements
- Responsible for the day-to-day operations of on-premises and cloud-based infrastructure services such as provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of virtualization platform and infrastructure
- Performs system administration of virtual infrastructure including but not limited to VMware on-premises and cloud-based services, such as Azure Cloud Services, Amazon Web Services, and third-party cloud services
- Provides virtual infrastructure support including new system delivery, preventative maintenance, and proactive availability (virtual desktop and servers); investigates, troubleshoots, resolves incidents and issues, and provides well-documented resolution outcomes
- Provides performance and capacity monitoring, reporting, and cost analysis of resource utilization
- Performs administration and day-to-day operation of virtual storage and networking
- Performs administration for server/data backup and restore service
- Develops and publishes documentation related to cloud and virtual systems and applications
- Actively participates in the Change Advisory Board problem management process and major incident resolution teams
- Responsible for project management duties, including coordinating and working with various entities to ensure the completion of assigned projects and tasks
- Installs and updates software and master images for virtual infrastructure
- Provides direction and support to lower-level team members by assisting with advanced or complex technical situations and by providing guidance regarding best practices
- Acts as a mentor by providing support to lower-level team members as they expand their knowledge and build higher-level skills
- Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
- Supports the values of the College: diversity, teaching excellence, student success, innovation, and creativity and service to the College
- Supports the mission, values and 3 goals and 8 principles of the College
Works under the general supervision of the Manager Systems Administration

Required Minimum Qualifications
System Analyst level is contingent on education and experience
System Analyst I
- High school diploma or GED and five (5) years' working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and work-related experience
- High school diploma or GED and seven (7) years' working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and work-related experience
- High school diploma or GED and nine (9) years' working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements; or any equivalent combination of education, training, certification, and work-related experience
System Analyst II – III will prefer advanced and more extensive experience
- Experience with virtualization technologies
- Industry standard VMware (VCP, VCAP, VCTA, VCDX) certifications
- Microsoft Azure Administration (AZ-103 or AZ-104) certifications
- IT industry-standard certification (i.e., MCITP, MCP, or CompTIA Network+)
- Advancedsecurity certifications (i.e., CompTIA Security+, CEH, or GIAC/GCIH)
- Experience with Microsoft Active Directory, Azure Active Directory, or Microsoft 365
- ITIL v4 Foundations certification
- Knowledge of troubleshooting routine hardware and software issues within the data center environment
- Knowledge of formal Change Control Systems based on the ITIL v4 model
- Knowledge of Visio, SmartDraw, or other diagramming and vector graphics
- Skilled in supporting Windows Server 2016/2019/2022 Operating Systems
- Skilled in supporting VMware and Microsoft Window environments
- Skilled in supporting a cloud provider (i.e., Azure, Amazon, Google) environment
- Skilled in using general applications and enterprise systems, including Microsoft 365 applications
- Skilled in excellent customer service and the ability to build interpersonal relationships with diverse populations using strong listening, verbal, and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment that includes people with all levels of technical skills
- Ability to think critically and effectively solve and communicate problems in a fast-paced environment where the demands for work are varied, and unpredictable in scope and volume
- Ability to delegate work appropriately to meet College needs
