Sheet Metal Mechanic/Fabricator
SHEET METAL MECHANIC
If you are reliable, good with mechanical assembly and disassembly, can read prints and communicate well, STS is looking for you.
Experience with aircraft and/or simulator fabrication and/or assembly work is desired but not required. Must be able to build to print specifications per manufacturing orders and know how to operate general shop machinery. Essential functions include:
- Perform bench-type processes to complete mechanical and electrical assemblies and subassemblies, using hand tools and electronic and pneumatic tooling.
- Position, assemble and disassemble close tolerance sheet metal, machined and structural parts and subassemblies according to special instructions, Manufacturing Order (MO), and/or blueprints.
- Possess knowledge of shop techniques with a thorough understanding of various tools and machinery and characteristics of different metals.
- Proficient at shop math and able to read a tape measure.
- Employ safe work practices at all times and maintain a clean work area.
- Furnish own hand tools.
Our manufacturing shop is heated and air conditioned and our work week includes half-days on Fridays.
Pre-employment drug screen and physical is required.
Job Type: Full-time
Salary: Starting $17.00 per hour DOE
