Job Summary/Basic Function

The Enrollment Coordinator (EC) combines elements of multiple positions across Enrollment Management that includes: Admissions, Financial Aid, Scheduling, Records, and Bursar's office including the coordination of knowledge and abilities to function in the MT One Stop. The Enrollment Coordinator will engage in early interactions and structured yield activities designed to increase the probability of admitted students becoming enrolled and retained and continue to serve as a coordinator for all enrollment related activities throughout a student's enrollment until graduation. The EC's will be proficient in providing detailed advice and counsel to students about MTSU, TBR, and Federal guidelines, academic policies/procedures, financial aid processing, and scheduling, in each instance determining what options are best for a given student. EC's must be able to answer questions and offer effective problem resolution across all enrollment management areas understanding the interrelationships between and among these areas. The EC's participate in recruitment activities such as True Blue Tours and Preview Days to provide information about enrollment and financial aid; and work at the CUSTOMS registration check-in table to assist students to determine if they are eligible for registration waivers/immunization extensions, etc. The EC's serve as a financial aid counselor to determine the need for financial aid intervention; advising students regarding the application process for various sources of financial aid assistance, outstanding requirements, the verification process and potential eligibility. They provide information regarding financial aid consortium agreements, financial aid deferments, financial aid appeals, and other financial aid resources available and assist the student as needed. The EC will: calculate bills for students during late registration periods and must have a continuous knowledge base of appropriate tuition and fee rates contingent on the student's status at time of registration; processes course registrations, course additions, course drops, and late registrations, informing students in each of these transactions of the implications of the decisions, and make residency adjustments/determinations. EC's will perform other related duties and special projects as assigned. Occasional night and weekend work is required.

Required Education

Bachelor's degree in social services field, student affairs, psychology, education or related area. Master's degree preferred.

Required Related Experience

Three (3) years progressively responsible experience in customer service related field or an enrollment management office (i.e., financial aid, advising center, student affair, enrollment services, records, scheduling center, bursar, academic advising or related area).

Desirable Related Experience
