Administrative Assistant, Affective Computing, Media Lab, to support the work of Professor Rosalind Picard and the Affective Computing research group. Will work closely with students, staff, and collaborators and serve as an operational hub that supports the daily operations of the research; manage day-to-day spending for the group and perform other financial tasks; maintain Professor Picard's calendar and travel arrangements; and coordinate meetings and events for the group.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: High school diploma or its equivalent; at least three years of administrative, office, or related experience; ability to learn quickly and work with critical time demands; excellent organizational and verbal and written communication skills; discretion, diplomacy, and good judgment; advanced-level computer skills and openness to learning new platforms; ability to work effectively with a creative and diverse group of people and contribute to research group's community; and ability to coordinate and execute events with above-average care and little supervision. Seek a highly organized and detail-oriented team player who demonstrates meticulous attention to detail and accuracy and is able to multitask, handle a wide variety of duties, and be flexible in an environment with competing priorities.
PREFERRED: Experience with MIT business apps, e.g., Microsoft Office, SAPgui, Concur, Google Workspace, Dropbox; familiarity with website maintenance (HTML); and higher education experience.

This is a full-time hybrid position working at least three days on campus, including Wednesdays.
This is a one-year appointment, with the possibility of extension based on funding and the course of the research.
