1. Handle a challenging and bustling caseload from start to finish involving all types of crime from misdemeanor to complex felony cases. You will make decisions every day that impact the lives of your community. From reading and assessing police reports to making decisions regarding what charges are appropriate, your professional work will represent the entire office.

.

2. Be a Courtroom Litigator. Our prosecutors are some of the most experienced in the State. You will participate in all stages of your cases with influence and impact. This means that you will handle criminal arraignments, grand jury presentations, motion practice, trials and sentencing hearings. Every case, every judge and every day is different. You will be challenged as you learn the nuances of the law and grow in your abilities to communicate, negotiate, and navigate the complex criminal justice system with law enforcement, the court, victims, witnesses, defense attorneys and juries.

.

3. Put your all into the thrill of TRIAL. No legal job can compare to the satisfaction and excitement of conducting jury trials. And prosecutors do more than anyone else. You will use all your analytical skills and interpersonal strengths to prepare witnesses, construct a strategic voir dire, anticipate evidentiary challenges and formulate persuasive closing arguments to guide jurors and judges to just verdicts.

.

4. Use your heart as well as your mind. We hold dangerous offenders accountable, but we also practice compassionate accountability. We are proud of the many ways our office engages with specialty courts and diversionary programs to benefit our community. If you have an interest in this specialized work, you can work within the justice system to connect people to the resources and treatment they need. It's truly rewarding work!

.

5. Be a team player. We are not just a bunch of lawyers who work in the same locale. We are one big team with a shared goal of making our community safer! You will receive lots of on-the-job training, support from knowledgeable leaders and guidance from experts in the world of criminal prosecution who truly have an open-door policy. Your questions, your input and your diverse life experience are all part of what makes us one of the best DA Offices in the State.

.
