Housing Program/Community Services Specialist (Part-Time)
The City of Cedar Falls is seeking candidates for a part-time Housing Program/Community Services Specialist to work up to 29/hours per week. Individual performs administrative, analytical, and technical duties related to the City’s Housing Choice Voucher (HCV/Section 8) rental assistance program, Community Development Block Grant, and related programs. Position conducts research on programs/grants available to the community; prepares narrative and financial reports; maintains accurate records, communicates with/educates/interviews landlords and tenants based on Federal regulations; conducts income verifications, negotiates rent and processes lease and contract agreements, assists in investigating and resolving housing complaints, prepares and presents promotional materials to increase participation in these programs; coordinates with HUD (U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development); coordinates and/or performs housing inspections and re-inspections, advises landlords of deficiencies, and completes related duties.
Current pay range: $19.497-31.689/hr., depending on qualifications. Selected candidate will be eligible for annual merit increases and part-time benefits, including pro-rated holidays/vacation/sick leave, cafeteria, tuition reimbursement, retirement, and wellness plans.
